Description
The Westland Distillery from Washington has been on an American Single Malt mission since 2010. Although it’s about innovation, localization, and transparency for the brand, they base their core range on the same raw materials used to produce Scotch. This reminded us of another popular and relatively young Whisky gem – the Japanese Chichibu.
Similarly, these Pacific-Northwesterners are serious about establishing the American Single Malt category. Westland is also one of the founding members of the American Single Malt Commission.
Part of the revered Outpost Range is the Colere expression, and this one is all about barley! Consider a sip of this rare Seattle native as an exploration of the local barley varieties. With only 3,000 bottles of this at least 4 years-old Whisky out there, you have to hustle if you want to savor its uniquely fresh flavor.
