Patrick Cooney knows Irish Spirits. He and his brother Nicholas purchased Gleeson — building the beverage-maker through organic growth and acquisitions to a nine-figure Irish giant. Patrick sold Gleeson in 2012 and has turned the family’s attention toward a new legacy — the Na Cuana beverage company and the Boann Distillery. It’s a true family business with his wife Marie, his daughters Sally-Anne and Celestine, and their sons Peter, Patrick, and James. This is 100% pure Irish Single Malt aged in Bourbon barrels and then finished for a full nine months in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks (PX). PX Sherry is the sweeter variety of the high-end Sherries and the casks caress a ton of delicate flavors out of the Spirit. And we want to personally thank Boann Distillery for bottling it at perfect 46% ABV. They call it “P.X. I Love You” as a play on words, but we love it right back.
