Description
A Tyrconnell Classic.
The Tyrconnell Distillery was originally owned by the Watt family in Ireland, dating all the way back to 1762. In 1876, the family entered a horse — a chestnut colt — in the classic Irish horse race called “The National Produce Stakes.” No one thought that the young horse would win, and the bookmakers took action at 100-to-1 odds. Well, the little horse won, and that horse’s name was Tyrconnell.
The Watt family promptly dedicated a new brand of classic Irish Whiskey in the name of the colt, and it has been a best-seller ever since. The dark days of Prohibition shuttered the stills for a while, but the Kilbeggan Distilling Company dusted-off the copper and cranked things up to full production again. Their line of Irish Whiskey is now the fastest-growing brand in Ireland.
The Tyrconnell Irish Single Malt is crafted using the finest Irish barley, steeped in only the purest spring water to germinate. The malt is then double distilled in traditional copper pot stills, yielding a signature light and heavenly Irish Spirit. Tyrconnell Irish Whiskey Single Malt earned 94 points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
