Ask any Whisky lover and they’ll tell you The Macallan is a classy gentleman. The distillery by the River Spey has been making Whiskies since 1824 and they sure do know a thing or two about making great Scotch.
The distillery stands on a ridge above the River Spey and it got its name from an ancient church that had been burnt down in the 15th century. They have two “secrets” up their sleeve: top secret specially cultured yeast for the fermentation, and the smallest stills within the Scotch industry.
The nature and the distillery have been harmoniously co-existing for almost 200 years. Hence, The Macallan Harmony collection, which is a limited annual release of Single Malts, inspired by nature.
The first release in this exciting series is The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao: a collab between the famous pastry chef Jordi Roca and the distillery. The bottle comes in a special packaging, crafted from discarded husks from Cacao pods, which remain after the chocolate-making process.
Fusing the world of chocolate with the Whisky universe, this tipple boasts a natural color of toasted cacao beans and a deep, dark chocolate profile. Aged in a combination of Sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, savor this one with a piece of fine chocolate.
