George Remus Bourbon created an annual limited release of special Bourbon casks they call “A Very Rare Bourbon.” Remus Repeal Reserve Series IV Straight Bourbon Whiskey is — as you would expect — the fourth edition. They combined two of their signature Bourbons distilled in 2008 with two different mash bills to get just the right balance. 77% is Bourbon with 21% rye in the mash, the rest is Bourbon made from 36% rye. And just to prove all those kids wrong who said “You’ll never use Algebra in real life,” that makes a blended dram that has 24.45% rye. And it’s bottled at 50% ABV in a retro Art Deco decanter, so you’ll taste every fraction with glee. All the reviewers are salivating over this one.
