Old Forester Birthday Bourbon (2022 Release)

Alice in Wonderland taught us that, while we’ve only one birthday, we also have a whopping 364 unbirthdays, and they all deserve a special cheer.

The same goes for Old Forester over here. For the 22nd year, the folks at the distillery celebrate on September 2—that’s founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday. On this date, they release their famous limited-edition Birthday Bourbon.

Now, this 2022 release is especially cheer-worthy as the expression wasn’t made available for purhcase at the Louisville distillery as in previous years, but through an online lottery. The Whiskey was aged for 11 years, and after being carefully chosen for its exceptionally unique character, bottled at proof point a bit lower than the last few years, at 96 proof (48% ABV).

The resulting 2022 Birthday Bourbon is a celebratory masterpiece you’ll cheer with for Brown’s birthday, your birthday, and all the unbirthdays in between.
