Description
A high-end French Whisky for your home bar.
Nestled in the heart of the Médoc region of France sits the Lajuac estate with Château Laujac. The region is famous for Wine growers and horse breeders and the roots of the estate date back all the way to Gallo-Roman times. René-Philippe Duboscq and his family have been established there for over a century. They invest in the vineyards, always raising the quality of their Spirits while respecting the environment. René-Philippe isn’t just a Wine producer and a horse breeder, however, he also has a passion for Whisky making. And he honors his father with it, naming it The Nelcius. A whisky brand that pays homage to his father’s horse of the same name that won the Prix du Jockey Club in 1966.
Nelcius Single Malt French Whisky is 100% a French product. This means the barley is grown, malted, and distilled in France. Double-distilled using small Carle-style stills, all the delicate flavors and intense aromas are preserved. It’s first aged for 2 years in French oak before it’s moved to Château’s own casks that previously held AOC Médoc wines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot varieties where it rests for 1 additional year. Finally, the Whiskies are blended and the result is an amazing structure with flavors of orange caramel, cocoa, and a hint of toast, all rounded up by Cab Sauv note. Clocking in at 90 proof, we recommend you savor this one with a drop of water, on the rocks, or in a fantastic high-end cocktail.
