Description
A gorgeous, perfectly aged Single Malt in a stunning presentation.
Highland Park is the most northerly distillery in Scotland on the Okrney Islands. Legend has it that it was founded by Whisky smuggler Magnus Eunson in the late 1700s and that he used his position as a church officer to conceal Whisky beneath the church pulpit. Don’t assume that “Highland Park” means their Whisky is made in the Highland style. In character, their spirit is closer to a midpoint between Lowland and Islay Single Malts. Perhaps the most famous Whiskey connoisseur of all time — journalist Michael Jackson — called Highland Park, “The greatest all-rounder in the world of Malt Whisky.”
Highland Park Søren Solkær 26 Year Old is a limited edition designer partnership with Danish photographer Søren Solkær — famous for his portraits of musicians such as U2, Björk, The White Stripes, and R.E.M.Well, the first thing you really need to know is that this is a twenty-six year-old expression of simply gorgeous Highland Park Single Malt aged in American Sherry and first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. It’s simply delicious. But this tribute to art arrives in a special leather presentation box shaped like an antique camera that contains a booklet filled with 250 images captured by the photographer in and around the distillery on Orkney. Smartass corner Highland Park Whiskies are not Highland-style Single Malts even though they have “Highland” in their name. Highland Park gets its name for a city district on the northern island of Orkney.
