Highland Park 40 Year Old Spring 2019 Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Crazy things happen on the Orkney islands. Crazy GOOD things. The main one certainly being Highland Park Whisky. And they’ve been pushing the envelope on “crazy good” since 1798.

The Highland Park 40 Year Old 2019 Spring Release sets the bar on their “crazy good” scale all the way up at “nutbar awesome”. A product of just five refill casks originally laid down before 1979, the juice was brought together in 2008 and filled into first-fill Sherry-seasoned American oak casks for further 10 years to really go crazy intense on the maturing whisky’s flavor. Long and slow maturation in original casks, followed by the final maturation inside American oak casks, resulted in a crazy depth of character with nutty, fruit-filled notes of Sherry.
