Description
The Glen Grant Distillery was founded by brothers John and James Grant in 1840 on the banks of the River Spey. By 1872, James Grant Jr., James’ son, inherited the distillery. People called him “the Major”, probably due to his bold pioneering Spirit: he owned the first car in Scotland, the first one to have electricity in his distillery, the first one with taller stills etc. The Major also traveled the world to promote Glen Grant Whisky and he’s greatly responsible for its unparalleled reputation today.
Gordon & MacPhail Glen Grant 50 Year Old 1951 was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. This vintage bottling is adorned with the traditional old distillery label. It was put to rest back in 1951 to mature for half of a century in Sherry butts. Clocking in at a respectable 40% ABV, this hard-to-get-by gem is an iconic Single Malt that offers you the rich taste of history.
