Description
Brora’s reputation as a legendary Single Malt has only grown over the years since its closure in 1983. Originally named Clynelish, it was renamed Brora in 1969 when the distillery’s production expanded into a second distillery next door.
This 25YO from Diageo’s 2008 Special Releases is the first of its age, having come off a run of the classic 30-year bottlings. At 112.6 proof, this Brora is not for the uninitiated, but a splash of water will release a cloud of smoke, followed by a honey and lemon-orange body underneath, completing the experience with a long and sweet finish.
The word is the silent distillery will be awakened again, and this will prove a rare chance to compare it against the new liquid.
