Description
The Stitzel-Weller Distillery is stuff of Bourbon legend. It was founded on Derby Day in 1935 by Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle himself and some of the most legendary Bourbons and brands were made there. The distillery itself was closed in 1992 and is now a museum-esque add-on to the Bulleit Bourbon Experience, owned by Diageo. Don’t worry, thought—there’s still plenty of leftover Weller Bourbon in the storage lofts along with “orphan” casks from other distilleries. In fact, Blade & Bow Bourbon blends these Bourbons solera-style to produce their range of two Whiskeys.
This 22-year-old Bourbon is a phenomenal American Whiskey that’s value has appreciated due to some pretty stellar demand. Cautionary note: because of the high demand, there’re only a handful of them left.
